What is the Save of the Day Foundation?

The Rob Esche “Save of the Day” Foundation, Inc. is committed to promoting the needs of youth throughout the Mohawk Valley and offer contributions to other 501c3 organizations that have been authorized by the board of directors to support. The Foundation is devoted to raising funds annually through special events, a partnership with the Utica Comets organization and direct fundraising activities to benefit the Mohawk Valley community.

What We Do

Throughout the past decade the Rob Esche “Save of the Day” Foundation, Inc. has raised over a million dollars to provide financial assistance to children with life threatening illnesses within the Mohawk Valley. Through fundraising efforts such as the 50/50 Raffle Program, annual Golf Outings, and specialty Utica Comets game nights, the Foundation has been able to help over 150 children and their families.

The Foundation also assists 501c3 organizations that demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the Mohawk Valley through in-kind donations and grants. Beginning in 2016, the Foundation will dedicate grants to organizations and programs that support youth education, fitness, and health and wellness initiatives.

“I’ve been fortunate in life and I’m very thankful for that. As a hockey wife there is a great opportunity to get involved and give back to the community we call home for the duration of the hockey season. We are lucky to be part of an organization who has a great platform like the Save of the Day Foundation to partner with and make a difference in the lives of those who can truly benefit from it. Volunteering for Save of the Day has been a huge part of my time in Utica and I’m excited to see what else we can accomplish in the future!”

“The Save of the Day Foundation and the Utica Comets provide unwavering support to the Kelberman Center and the individuals that we serve. In 2015, the Save of the Day foundation provided underwriting for 68 children with autism spectrum disorders to attend our Awesome Summer Days camp, a supportive and inclusive 9-week program for autistic children and their siblings. One mother said, ‘The positive impact that this program has offered my son cannot be expressed in words. These summer days are some of the best he has ever had.’ It is because of Save of the Day Foundation’s generosity and commitment to community that young lives are being transformed through exceptional experiences in a supportive atmosphere.”

“The Save of the Day Foundation has helped us reach out and change lives in our community. This has included feeding individuals and families who come to our doors hungry, to providing 150 families with a Thanksgiving Turkey. The Foundation has helped us provide critical needed counseling and programming to individuals in our community struggling with life controlling issues. We were able to renovate one of our existing building with a portion of the funds provided. This building now houses individuals who have been successful in completing treatment and who are now actively engaged in seeking employment, job training, or attending college. All of this has been made possible because of the generosity of the Save of the Day Foundation.”
